Artist Bio:
Tim is a designer and toolmaker working in Brooklyn. He keeps a studio under a trestle near a heavily polluted canal, and spends a good deal of time pulling interesting bits of metal out of his bicycle tires.

In 1999, Tim came to New York from Florida to attend The Cooper Union. While there and abroad at The Slade School of Art in London, Tim learned he was the worst sort of metal geek: the old-fashioned kind. After college, he cut his teeth restoring antique light fixtures, and fabricating elaborate installation pieces for his friend and mentor Lorenzo Clayton. Nowadays he's the designer for Gramercy Tools, specializing in the manufacture of fine saws and hand tools for woodworkers and period furniture makers.

Tim believes that drawing is the foundation of design, and that people who need help making things deserve someone kind to ask. He maintains his studio in service to this philosophy.
