Artist Statement:
My paintings hedge between abstraction and representation, between memory and willed conjuring. This dissonance between representation and memory seems to occupy the bulk of my interest in painting.

Forms reoccur and change over time, but the mainstay of my visual vocabulary is autobiographical and observational. Athleticism, prose, the human form, landscape, and a sense of humor all live within my paintings in some capacity.

I want my paintings to connect synapses, build bridges and to live between brazen self-assuredness and a sort of quietude that asks rather than demands your attention.
