Artist Bio:
Dara Oshin infuses personal narratives and viewpoints into her work that ranges from illustrative to subtly conceptual. Her current body of work incorporates photography, found objects, painting and drawing to create boxes that speak about regeneration, feminism and the environment. After earning her degree in English Literature and Studio Art she continued to develop her artistic practice by traveling and studying for nearly a decade before settling in Brooklyn. Her work has been shown in solo and group shows internationally and in 2015, Dara illustrated a children's book which won a Bronze Moonbeam Award. Dara will have an installation opening spring 2019 in the Normandy region of France.

Artist Statement:
I am easily overtaken by the sensory stimulation and abundance of information in the world around me. When I become overwhelmed, I need to transform this feeling into something easier to process, something that acts like an antidote. As a result, my work reveals the very chaos that was the catalyst of its creation. I am interested in exploring the dynamics of relationships, the complexities of womanhood, the magic of fertility, and the changing perspectives of belief.
