Artist Statement:
My work continues to come from a place where the struggle of light and dark forces, share the playing field. A conceptual image takes root, morphing in form and expression, building surface, creating a presence. The idiom of figuration continues to fascinate me. The figure, objects and ground become reality as surfaces develop. Currently the paintings range in size. I am working in acrylic and oil mediums, coaxing form with strong color into a new primitivism.
