Artist Statement:
I have painted birds, flowers, and trees for more than twenty-five years. My subjects exist in a realm between the real and the folkloric, between what I see in front of me and what I imagine. Though straightforward in their execution, my paintings are nonetheless romantic in their associations, evoking an ephemeral place where traces of memories and emotions are sometimes revealed. They are, in a way, expressions of longing for sanctuary from the passage of time.
