Artist Statement:
I use the imagery and language of the natural world to express current personal and collective anxieties, drawing parallels between what it means to survive in the here and now and what it means to survive in the wilderness. In my works I depict subtle elements of danger, shown in the form of apocalyptic weather or blood sucking insects, and imminent threats that approach static, unmoving figures. I use the landscape, the figure, and unlikely groupings of objects to tackle ideas of solitude and fending for oneself.
