Artist Bio:
Margaret Noel studied Studio Art and Anthropology at Oberlin College, and earned her MFA in painting from the New York Studio School. She currently splits her time between her studio in Brooklyn, NY and her position as a Professor of Drawing in the Department of Art and Art History of Kutztown University of PA. Recent exhibitions include a five person encaustic show at The Curator Gallery (Chelsea, NY), solo exhibitions at The Durham Art Council (NC), The First Street Gallery (NY), Dickinson College (PA), and Seminole State College (FL); a two-person exhibitions at Gallery 51 (North Adams, MA) and The Goggleworks (Reading, PA); and a public art installation at the Ulrich Museum of Art (Wichita, KS).

Artist Statement:
Margaret Noel's current body of mixed-media work fuses alternating layers of beeswax, soot, pigment and paper to portray architecture that has been fragmented and altered by environmental disasters, both natural and man-made.
